GIOVANNI SPANÓ
Co Founder & Principal
Co Founder and Principal Giovanni Spano has recently enjoyed a national tour of 'I Should Be So Lucky' as the supporting lead 'Ash'. Prior to that he appeared in Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Cinderella'. He also appeared as a live finalist on 2018's 'X Factor'.
At the age 14 Giovanni Spano attended Sylvia Young Theatre School followed by Laine Theatre Arts where he achieved a diploma in Musical Theatre. He knew from a young age that he wanted to perform professionally and made his debut on the West End Stage at the age of 12.
Following his tuition he continued and continues to play major roles in shows such as Rip It Up, Bat Out Of Hell, Guys & Dolls, Dance Til' Dawn, Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, Mamma Mia, Footloose, Fame, Tommy, Whistle Down The Wind and Bugsy Malone, Falstaff at the Opera House and Peter Pan at the Festival Hall.
His TV career consists presenting for Magic TV, Holby City, Top Of The Pops, This Morning and Children In Need.
He has also just had a number 1 in the U.S Disney Chart and is an avvid songwriter. Giovanni loves teaching at Spano Academy and wishes to focus on passing his knowledge and skills to the children.
KATRINA SPANÓ
Co Founder & Principal
Having Trained at Urdang Academy Katrina recieved her Trinity Diploma in Musical Theatre and Dance. Prior to this Katrina did extensive syllabus training in RAD, ISTD and IDTA.
Since graduating she has been a trailblazer in teaching the talent of the future. Locally she has inspired young people to embrace their creative sides. She has also seen past students reach wild heights, leading West End shows and signing record deals.
Her TV credits include Family Tree, Sofia's Diary, many commercials and feature films. She is no stranger to the stage as she has been performing from the age of 2. Katrina's peforming experience doesn't stop there she has also modelled professionally for companies such as schwarzkopf, Next and Harringtons.
Vocally able Katrina has recorded soundtracks for Disney and many musicals.
Katrina has been teaching children for 8 years now and feels this is where her real passion lies.
